The UAB Libraries have been selected by the Southeastern Atlantic region (SEA) of the Network of the National Library of Medicine to host a fully virtual Library Carpentry Workshop in Spring 2021. The workshop will be divided into four separate sessions. Each virtual session will be held 8:30 am – 12:30 pm on January 22nd, February 26th, March 26th, and April 23rd.
Workshop content will be introductory and no data or programming background is needed to participate. Library Carpentry workshops are an excellent professional development opportunity for anyone interested in enhancing their data-related research or professional skills.
The workshop session topics are:
- January 22, Tidy Data and Regular Expressions.

To participate, registrants must have access to an internet connection and a personal computer with the Zoom videoconferencing client, the Bash Shell, OpenRefine, and Git installed. A dual monitor or two-device setup is strongly recommended, but not required. Additional information on preparing for the workshop is available on the workshop site.
Registration is limited to 20 participants. Complete this form to register.
