| Historical Note | Dr. Donald L. Grigsby (1934-2018) joined the UAB faculty on January 1, 1971, receiving a dual appointment as Assistant Professor of Education (primary) and Assistant Professor of Physics (secondary). When he retired from UAB in 2001, Dr. Grigsby held the titles of Associate Professor of Education and Assistant Professor of Physics. Grigsby received a BS degree from Central Missouri, an MA from the University of California-Los Angeles, and a PhD from the University of Southern California. In 1973 Grigsby served on the committee for the first Birmingham Educational Film Festival. The festival, which was held March 12-16 as part of the Alabama Education Association’s meeting in Birmingham, was sponsored by the AEA, Alabama Power Company, and UAB. Dr. Grigsby published numerous book reviews and presented papers at professional and scientific meetings, including the American Scientific Affiliation Society, Southeastern Philosophy Education Society, and the Southern Association of Comparative and International Education. |
