Historical Note | This collection may have been assembled by or for Howard L. Holley, MD (1914-1988), during his research into the medical history of Alabama. An Alabama native, Dr. Holley served as the first Anna Lois Waters Professor of Medicine at UAB from 1970 until 1984. In 1982 he published The History of Medicine in Alabama, and some of the material in this collection appears to have been used by Dr. Holley for this publication. Additional material may have been added when these research files were transferred over to the JCMS/UAB Health Sciences Archives. |
Scope and Contents | Includes correspondence, reports, organizational minutes, programs, newsletters, pamphlets, brochures, membership lists, and news clippings. The primary focus is Jefferson County and the City of Birmingham. |
