Dr. Marla Hertz is an Associate Professor and Research Data Management Librarian in the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Libraries. She instructs researchers on managing data effectively so they can devote more time to their research. Before she was hired as a librarian at UAB, Marla dedicated over 15 years to studying viruses and parasites from the lab bench to clinical studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from UAB and a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
