As you may have heard, the remainder of the 2nd floor (that is not occupied by INTO UAB) will transition to space devoted to student-related administrative functions. The bound periodicals still housed on that floor are in the process of being moved to our on-campus remote storage facility, the study furniture will be moved to the 3rd floor and the 1st floor, and the individual study carrels will be removed. The furniture being relocated to the 1st floor will occupy the space currently occupied by the print reference collection, and most of that collection will be moved to either the 3rd floor or remote storage. During the initial phase of this transition, which will continue through the Spring term, students (and faculty members) will still be able to use the 2nd floor library space for study and research.
