    Reserve a private study carrel or a group study room in Sterne Library or Lister Hill Library. 
     
  1. No laptop? We’ve got you covered. 
    UAB Libraries provides short-term laptop loans in both Sterne and Lister Hill libraries. Anyone with a current ONE Card can check out MacBooks and Dell Latitude devices for a four-hour period on a first-come, first-served basis from self-service kiosks located near the HUB Desks in both libraries. 
     
    Additionally, UAB Libraries’ has a robust collection of circulating technology available for checkout from the Sterne and Lister Hill HUB Desks, the LibLab @ Sterne, and the LibLab @ Lister Hill, including laptops available for seven-day loan periods. See the full collection online
     
  1. Our resources are available 24/7. 
    Chat with a librarian 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday for help finding what you need, or visit our website, database list, and Research Guides online at any time. 
     
  1. There’s no cost to you for anything we offer. 
    From digital editions of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, to the digital library JSTOR, to thousands of e-books available instantly via our catalog, we have what you need to succeed. 
     
  1. You can borrow textbooks from our Reserves collection. 
    Many 100- and 200-level textbooks (and some from upper-level courses!) are available for short-term loan at Sterne Library. Check for your books on this list, then inquire at the HUB Desk. 
     
  1. If we don’t have something you need, we can get it for you. 
    Our speedy Interlibrary Loan service can deliver books and resources from other libraries outside UAB at no cost to you — sometimes within 24 hours. Submit an ILL request
     
  1. You can stream movies and documentaries at no cost to you with Swank. 
    Swank contains the 1,000 most requested film titles, including the latest box-office hits, documentaries, independent films, international movies and classics that support academic instruction and research. See what’s streaming
     
  1. Check out fun items like crochet hooks and puzzles from the Library of Things coming this fall. 
    Relax and unwind or make your life a bit easier with items like board games or a handheld sewing machine, all of which will be available for checkout from the brand-new Library of Things later this semester. Stay tuned to @uablibraries on Instagram for more!
