In order to better serve the student users and accommodate the high demand of the study room spaces at Lister Hill Library, changes will be made to the group and single study room reservation policy. The most prominent change will be beginning June 3, 2018, all rooms will be locked and students will have to report the HUB Service Desk to check out the room key.

Lister Hill Library

Lister Hill Library will be closed Saturday, May 26, through Monday, May 28, in observance of Memorial Day, and on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

UAB Libraries now has a courier service to transport books and other library materials between Lister Hill Library, Lister Hill Library at University Hospital, Sterne Library, and the remote storage facility in the 801 Building. UAB students, staff, and faculty can select an item from our OneSearch PRIMO online catalog and have it delivered to the library location most convenient to them. Materials may be returned to Sterne, Lister Hill, or Lister Hill at University Hospital. Courier deliveries are usually completed within 2 days, Monday through Friday. The libraries’ OneSearch system will email the user when an item is ready for pick up. Remember to log in at the top right of the screen in OneSearch to see the request options.

The Kaul Human Genetics Building was constructed on the site of UAB's Tidwell Hall and it was dedicated on May 21, 2001. The new eight-story Kaul Building was home to the genetics department as well as the new Howell and Elizabeth Ann Heflin Center for Human Genetics and the Finley Conference Center.

Need stress relief during Finals week? UAB Libraries is happy to have Hand in Paw visit to help you relax. Take a break and recharge with these fine, furry, therapists on TUESDAY, April 24th at Sterne from 11:00-12:30 and Lister Hill on THURSDAY, April 26th from 11:00-12:30. They will be meeting and greeting on the first floor of both libraries. They shouldn’t be hard to find. Just follow the smiles!
