Starting with the spring term on January 7, 2019, all patrons will be required to swipe their ONE Cards to enter Sterne Library all the hours that the library is open. This includes the INTO entrance on the second level up the ramp.

At Lister Hill Library, access between the ground floor and the Library space on the first and second floors has been eliminated. Access the ground floor at street level and use the front elevator or stairwell in the lobby to access the Library on the first floor or plaza level.

Come join us as we traverse UAB’s hiring landscape via a panel discussion and recognize some of these first achievements and achievers.

This UAB Community Month event is sponsored by UAB Libraries, African American Faculty Association and UAB African American Studies Program.

Scourge: Diseases That Shaped History is a new exhibit curated by the four UAB Art History Capstone students of Assistant Professor of Art History, Noa Turel. Students Kelsey Jones, Oakleigh Pinson, Tina Ruggieri, and Brooklynne Todd created the exhibit using historical books and artifacts, all of which are held within the collections of the Alabama Museum of the Health Sciences and the Reynolds-Finley Historical Library. It is on display on the 3rd floor of Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences until May 31, 2019. This fascinating new exhibit can be viewed from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Many libraries suspend ILL Borrowing and Document Delivery services during the holidays, making it difficult for us to fill UAB patrons’ requests.

Sterne Library will suspend ILL services for borrowing and document delivery between Saturday, December 15, 2018 and Tuesday, January 1, 2019.

At UAB Libraries, we are again holding our Toys for Fines holiday charity drive to bring smiles to children who may not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season. Library users with overdue fines (current or prior) can have up to $20 waived when they donate a new, unwrapped toy for a child (infant through 12 years of age) to the Toys for Tots drive. These contributions will support UAB’s 25th Annual Holiday Toy Drive in conjunction with Toys for Tots to benefit local children.
