UAB Libraries is pleased to introduce a new catalog and search tool, OneSearch, our customized version of Primo from Ex Libris. Available from the search box on our new website, this one-stop searching tool allows you to find a wealth of information from print books and e-books, journals and articles, electronic resources, videos, digital collections and digital media all at once.

Using OneSearch

Because Primo lets you discover millions of scholarly resources, and some of these may not be immediately accessible at UAB, it is important to know what you are searching. Pay attention to the options available in the dropdown menu on the right side of the search box. These options allow you to choose what kinds of results you will get.

  • Everything: Searches millions of resources for information on your topic, but is not limited to resources accessible through UAB Libraries.
  • Library Catalog: Searches only materials available at UAB Libraries, including books, e-books, digital collections and journals, but does not search articles within resources.
  • Articles: Searches articles within journals, newspapers, magazines and UAB database subscriptions.
  • Course Reserves: Only searches items reserved by professors for their courses.

You can also use OneSearch to manage your library account and library research. Sign in with your BlazerID and password to export citations to EndNote and other citation management software, renew books and videos, and create favorites lists and save searches.
